Changes in my way of tying
Today, after a little over 4 years of practicing Shibari, I’ve decided to intentionally try to create emotionality through the ropes.
Until now, I focused more on tying and creating a pattern (gote, futomomo, strappado…) because I needed to ensure I did it well.
Now I have enough knowledge to add an additional layer of complexity to my practice. For me, this represents a huge step forward, being able to focus more on the person I am tying, paying more attention to how they feel, their non-verbal language… and progressing in what I hope will help me have deeper sessions.
This has somehow already been reflected in my post about the Naka Nawa-Kai & my London trip , and after spending a couple of weeks doing an extensive review of all the Shibari material I have: videos, workshop notes…
